ARTIST: M TRAX
TITLE: TRIP CHICK with HOME & GARDEN REMIX
CAT: NT016 - 12"
DIST: PRIME
RELEASE: February 12.2001

Nordic Trax opens the year with this superb EP from M Trax, hailing from Manchester the guys behind these tracks are better known for their work on Toko & Transport as Mettle Music Collective.

Trip Chick is a driving house tune with the tight production qualities you would expect from a Nordic Trax release. Tim Shumaker puts on his Home & Garden hat and turns in a fantastic beats driven Latino remix that lifts the track to a summer dimension. Rounding off the package is the late night disco tinged acid house track "Rush".

This ep has been receiving wicked play on dancefloors worldwide and will appear in the April issue of MUZIK's 'Vital Vinyl' chart. The Home & Garden remix has appeared on Ali B's Capital FM (London) Club Chart in 7 Magazine for the last few weeks, as well as charts from Nick Holder, David Duriez, Andrew Macari & George T. Big up to all the deejays playing this one out and making it happen!

Look for reviews in DJ Magazine, 7, Overload and the forthcoming in XLR8R:
"Nordic Trax continue their assault on International dancefloors. Hot off the back of Tyler's 'Necessary Pieces 2' compilation comes this wicked selection of mixes and tracks by these talented Manchester producers, with the help of the formidable Home & Garden. Check out 'Rush' which will destroy the house and shake every bone in your body, I reckon!!! Hunt down productions on Toko as Mettle Music Collective from these dudes, and look out for forthcoming goodies on Low Pressings as well." XLR8R Magazine SF, #49 (Murray Richardson)

ARTIST: HOME & GARDEN
TITLE: INNOCENT EP
CAT: NT017 - 12"
DIST: PRIME RELEASE: March 12.2001

Keep your ears open for this one. Home & Garden is the latest guise of Timothy Shumaker, who released an EP for Nordic Trax (NT008) in July of '99 as T.O.S., the critically acclaimed "McLean & Hoyne EP". Tim also has releases on Silver Network, Red Nail, Bombay and Seasons amongst others, with an album forthcoming this spring on Classic. He recently moved back to Chicago from NYC, and this ep features the talents of two other Chicago favourites: DJ Colette sings vocals on "Innocent", and Chi-town scenester JT Donaldson joins in on "Tacky Tracky". From the outset the soaring vocals on 'Innocent' have spelled 'choon to us here at NT, so expect remixes this spring from Morgan Page, Gavin Froome and a mystery guest.

NT015 MORGAN PAGE "Pathways EP"

The Nordic Trax imprint has a habit of getting the best out of its producers, none more so than with their latest signing, Morgan Page. With releases under his belt for the FIGI imprint, Page turns to Luke McKeehan's growing Vancouver-based label to write the next page in minimal underground house. All four tracks patiently build with skippy beats and subtle chords before dropping down with deep subs and raw organic chords. Capably building a bridge between deep soulful house and subtle moonlight tech, this EP is a must for lovers of Mantis, Grayhound and Guidance." XLR8R Magazine SF, #46 (Luke Magnuson)

With 'Necessary Pieces 2' release parties in Edmonton, Winnipeg & Calgary in the bag, Vancouver DJ Tyler 'T-Bone' Stadius hits the road again this March for dates Friday March 23 @ Stereo in Montreal and Saturday March 31 @ Fabric in London. Hope to see you there. Expect full MP3 streams of NT014CD/2LP 'Necessary Pieces 2' very soon @ Epitonic .

In the meantime check out this recent review:
"This warm, mellow collection of tracks on Canuck label Nordic Trax will put you in the mood for a dry martini in a hot tub. Banish all of the cheesy, Puff Daddy-esque pictures that scenario brings to mind, and imagine the high-class hot tun built into a cliff of some mountain range's foothills, overlooking the twinkling lights of far-away never-never land. This disc is smooth, slick and brings to mind only the most elegant in simple designs. If this disc were a chair, it would have been built by Charles and Ray Eames. Lovely.
