Biography - DANA D

If you are at all involved in Vancouver's club scene it would be impossible to have not met the man known as Dana D at least once. A self described "one man urban guerrilla multitask force", Dana has been the street promotion co-ordinator for Vancouver's most internationally renowned underground club, Sonar, for the past four years.

The job has made him in many way's the face of Sonar for most people in the retail world, creating connections for the club in the community that would have been otherwise difficult to develop.
His countless hours standing outside of clubs, rolling flyers out to the streets and propagating the Sonar message to the masses has allowed him to become one of Vancity's most recognized club scenesters.

As a DJ, Dana has been the resident backroom deck technician at Sonar since it's inception and is well known for his eclectic sets consisting of downbeat, hip hop, drum & bass, midtempo breaks and deep house plus whatever else captures his musical imagination.

His abstract style has allowed him to open for many different people and bands such as Kid Koala, Tricky, Morcheeba, Carl Craig, Luke Vibert, The Herbaliser, Mark Farina, Saint Germain, Coldcut, Saul Williams and Anti-Pop Consortium, to name a few. This past year has seen him fulfill a childhood dream with the creation of his first radio show with long time DJ partner DR J. on CJSF 93.9. It can also be heard on the net at www.cjsf.bc.ca .
